Multifrequency Sieve Analyzer MSA-W/D-200

Laboratory four-cell vibratory mill VM-4

Purpose

The apparatus is intended for wet and dry sieving of polydispersed suspensions, fine-grained slurry, and dry granular materials with (or without) additional washing of material on the sieves.

Maximum coarseness of material to be sieved is 3 -5 mm. Mesh varies in size from 500 -1000 mm to 20 μm in the basic sieve kit.

For production of slime analysis the sieve kit is supplied with additional meshes: 15 and 10 μm.

The analyzer is supplied with an additional grinding block for preparation of tests for a chemical analysis, which includes a four-cell vibratory mill.

Application Area

Determination of particle size distribution and control of screening, grinding, classification and desliming processes on beneficiation plants of ore, coal and non-metallic minerals.

Determination of particle size distribution the processes of powder metallurgy and cement plants.

Description of Multifrequency Sieve Analyzer

The main working element of the unit is a vibratory system generating multifrequency oscillations of a sieve kit with controlled vertical peak-to-peak displacement.

The oscillatory circuit of the apparatus includes two electrical vibration exciters and a proprietary mechanical vibration converter (KROOSHERTM) transforming high-frequency linear oscillations of an elastic support of the exciters into multifrequency nonlinear vibration of the sieving surface. Each sieve experiences also torsional oscillations in the horizontal plane.

When generating multifrequency nonlinear vibration, the surface of each sieve oscillates with frequencies of a wide range (from 20 to 1000 Hz) and peak sieve accelerations as high as 150 g, which provides effective sieving of polydispersed materials and effective cleaning of sieves.

For sieving suspensions, the unit is provided with a washing module located in the upper part of the apparatus. The spraying device distributes the stream of water along the whole sieving area and washes the material on each sieve. The flow rate of water for spraying is established depending on material and charge properties.

The sieves are removable. Worn sieves could be replaced without replacement of the steel frame.

The washing module (or cover) with the kit of sieves is tightly pressed to the vibratory platform by a spring- loaded clamping device.

The sieve analyzer is equipped with a remote programming control panel, which allows to set the required values of vibration exciter frequency, sieve kit amplitude and sieving duration.

The grinding block includes a four-cell vibratory mill and is adjusted on the same vibratory platform.

General views of two modifications of the multifrequency sieve analyzer and the laboratory four-cell vibratory mill are shown below.

Multifrequency Sieve Analyzer Distinction and Advantages

  1. A vibratory system generating multifrequency oscillations of a sieve kit with peak accelerations of the working sieve surface up to 150 g.

  2. Possibility of sieving materials that cannot be sieved in conventional equipment.

  3. Continuous self-cleaning of the sieves. If necessary, additional cleaning of sieves may be performed in the unit.

  4. A large one-time charge of fine-dispersed material: up to 1000 gram for dry sieving and up to 200 gram for wet sieving.

  5. A remote program control panel, that allows automatic multi-stage continuous sieving with different values of sieve vibration frequency, amplitude and sieving duration for each sieving stage.

  6. Two-layer sieves with substantially extended service life.

  7. A sprayer module allowing continuous flushing of the oversize fraction on each sieve in the process of sieving.

  8. Wet sieving of pulp taken off directly from continuous process flowsheet. Elimination of manual sieving.

  9. Sieving of fine-dispersed slurries on 15 and 10µm sieves on the same unit.

  10. Wet sieving of water-soluble potassium salts with flushing of the oversize product with saturated salt solution.

  11. Use of the drive of multifrequency sieve analyzer for adjusting of the four-cell vibratory mill and preparation of samples for chemical analyses.

  12. Use of the multifrequency sieve analyzer for physical modeling of wet and dry sieving.
